Taya Asimos, Class at SF School of Digital Filmmaking
Master acting teacher, Hester Schell, MFA, joins the faculty of Portland Actors Conservatory again, autumn 2017, for a beginning/intermediate class in the Meisner technique.
Wednesday nights, 6:30 – 9:30.
6 weeks. November 8 – December 13, 2017.
Hester thoroughly believes the Meisner method will make you a better performer, more alive, in the moment. This extraordinary work will change the way you see and respond.
REGISTRATION: Portland Actors Conservatory, Now at Actors Repertory Theatre! When PAC uploads the registration information, it will appear on this page.
The focus of the Meisner approach is for the actor to “get out of their head”, such that the actor is behaving instinctively to the surrounding environment. To this end, some exercises for the Meisner technique are rooted in repetition so that the words are deemed insignificant compared to the underlying emotion. In the Meisner technique, there is a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to one’s internal thoughts or feelings associated to the prescribed character.
